The 1948 season of the Primera División was the 45th season (the 17th of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .
The Primera División consisted in the championship season of 1948 from ten clubs, whose teams met in a total of 50 championship games. The season ended prematurely after a player strike by abandonment. There were only 10 game days. Neither champions nor relegated were identified. The championship lead at the time of the early end of the season was held by Nacional Montevideo . The most successful goal scorers were Oscar Omar Míguez and Manuel Loz with 8 goals each . In some cases, however, Míguez was assigned nine goals.
