Pantaleón Dalence is a province in the eastern part of the Oruro department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

location

The Atahuallpa Province is one of sixteen provinces in the Oruro Department. It lies between 18 ° 05 'and 18 ° 35' south latitude and between 66 ° 10 'and 66 ° 45' west longitude .

It borders in the northwest on the province of Cercado , in the southwest on the province Poopó , in the east on the Department of Potosí , and in the northeast on the department of Cochabamba .

The province extends over 65 kilometers in an east-west direction and over 55 kilometers in a north-south direction.

population

The population of the province of Pantaleón Dalence has increased by almost a fifth over the past two decades:

45 percent of the population are younger than 15 years. 93.2 percent of the population speak Spanish , 69.8 percent Quechua, and 21.2 percent Aymara . ( 2001 )

27.7 percent of the population have no access to electricity, 87.4 percent live without sanitary facilities ( 1992 ).

21.7 percent of those in employment work in agriculture, 38.2 percent in mining, 5.9 percent in industry, and 34.2 percent in the service sector ( 2001 ).

82.3 percent of the population are Catholic, 14.3 percent are Protestant ( 1992 ).
