The Queen Anne's County is a county in the US state of Maryland . At the 2010 census , the county had 47,798 residents and a population density of 47.1 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Centerville .

The county is located on the Delmarva Peninsula on the east bank of Chesapeake Bay and borders Delaware to the east . Queen Anne's County includes Kent Island , the largest island in Chesapeake Bay. The county covers an area of 1,370 square kilometers; 356 square kilometers (26.99 percent) of it is water. It borders on the following counties:

history
Queen Anne's County was formed in 1706 from parts of Talbot County.
It was named after Anne Stuart (1665–1714), Queen of England (1702–1714).
In 1773 part of Queen Anne's County was spun off to form Caroline County together with part of Dorchester County.
