The Worcester County is the easternmost county in the US state of Maryland . The county seat is Snow Hill .

The county is located on the Atlantic coast of the Delmarva Peninsula . It is bordered by Delaware to the north and Virginia to the south. Worcester County covers an area of ​​1,799 square kilometers; of which 575 square kilometers (33.88 percent) are water surfaces. It borders on the following counties:

Worcester County was formed in 1742 from parts of Somerset County . It was named after the Earl of Worcester .
