Ronny Marcos (born October 1, 1993 in Oldenburg in Holstein ) is a German - Mozambican soccer player . As a left-footed defensive player, especially in full defense and in midfield , Marcos began his career at Hansa Rostock in the 3rd division .

Marcos was born to a Mozambican father and a German mother in Oldenburg, Holstein . He began his football career at the age of twelve with the “Jugendsportgemeinschaft” (JSG) on the neighboring island of Fehmarn . He came to VfB Lübeck via the youth teams of Oldenburger SV from his hometown . For this he played in 2009/10 in the B-Jugend - Regionalliga Nord and reached fifth place in the final table with the team. In the subsequent 2010/11 season, he became captain of the Lübeck A youth team and took seventh place in the Regionalliga Nord.

In 2011, Marcos moved to the youth department of FC Hansa Rostock , whose A-youth played in the U-19 Bundesliga in the 2011/12 season. Marcos made 20 appearances in the team supervised by coach Roland Kroos, which finished fifth at the end of the season. Meanwhile, he continued his school career at the Rostock CJD .

Beginnings in Rostock

In the summer of 2012 Marcos was taken over by coach Wolfgang Wolf in the professional squad of FC Hansa, who played as a relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga in the 3rd division in the 2012/13 season . On August 4, 2012 he made his debut there and signed a contract with FC Hansa, which was limited to 2014 and included an option for another year. By the end of the season Marcos completed 16 appearances for Rostock's professional team, which secured relegation on the penultimate match day. Occasionally he was called up in the second representation of Hansa, who played in the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost .

In the following season 2013/14 Marcos was called up by the newly appointed coach Andreas Bergmann only in the national cup for the professional team and played in the league exclusively for Hansa's reserve team, for which he played ten appearances during the first half of the season.

Bundesliga debut at Hamburger SV

During the winter break, Marcos switched to the second team of Hamburger SV after a trial session . In the Regionalliga Nord , he contributed to staying up with seven appearances. In the first half of the 2014/15 season he completed all 17 preliminary round matches, after which the U-23 became autumn champions with 14 wins and three draws.

On November 23, 2014, Marcos sat on the bench for the HSV professionals for the first time in the 2-0 win in the north derby against Werder Bremen . On the following 13th matchday on November 29, 2014, he made his debut in the Bundesliga in the 3-1 defeat against FC Augsburg under coach Josef Zinnbauer , who had been his U-23 coach at the beginning of the season . Overall, Marcos came to nine Bundesliga and 28 regional league appearances, in which he also scored a goal.

Via Fürth to Austria

After Marcos in the first round of the season 2015/16 only the second team in the Regionalliga had been used, he moved to the second round in the 2. Bundesliga for SpVgg Greuther Furth , when he received a valid until June 2018 contract.

For the 2016/17 season Marcos was awarded to the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Ried . Despite the relegation of Rieder, the club acquired the transfer rights for the 2017/18 season and provided him with a contract until June 30, 2020. After the 2017/18 season he left SV Ried.

Return to Germany

In July 2018, Marcos completed a trial training with the second division Holstein Kiel . In August 2018, Marcos signed a contract with the Greek first division club AE Larisa until June 30, 2021, which the club terminated a few days later.

In February 2019 Marcos joined the regional league club Eintracht Norderstedt , with whom he received a contract until the end of the 2018/19 season .

For the 2019/20 season, Marcos moved to the Regionalliga Südwest at Kickers Offenbach . He signed a contract until June 30, 2021.

National team

After talks with the coach of the Mozambican national soccer team Gert Engels in April 2013, Marcos applied for the Mozambican passport and received an invitation to the senior national team. Although already in possession of a flight ticket, the eligibility to play the World Cup qualifiers against Guinea and Egypt in June 2013 could not be issued in time. After the premature failure of the national team in qualification and the resignation of coach Gert Engels, Marcos was no longer invited against Zimbabwe in early September 2013 . In mid-June 2015 Marcos finally traveled to an international match for the first time and made his international debut on June 14, 2015 under coach João Chissano in Mozambique's 0-1 defeat in the Africa Cup qualifier against Rwanda . So far, no further missions have followed.
