The Southeast German Football Championship 1929/30 was the nineteenth edition of the Southeast German Football Championship of the Southeast German Football Association (SOFV). The championship was won for the first time by the SuSV 09 from Beuthen on points in the final tournament and thus established its dominance in the following years. By winning this association championship, the club qualified for the German football championship 1929/30 , in which the Beuthener failed in the second round with a narrow 2-3 defeat at Hertha BSC . The United Breslauer Sportfreunde was able to secure the runner-up in a playoff and was thus also allowed to take part in the German championship. The Breslau team were also eliminated in the round of 16, against 1. FC Nürnberg Breslau clearly lost 7-0.

Southeast German soccer final

The final round of the southeast German soccer championship was played in a round- robin tournament in the 1929/30 season. The division into the two groups did not take place via knockout games like last year, but was determined by the SOFV. The teams of the three strongest districts Niederlausitz, Middle Silesia and Upper Silesia made it into the final group and were able to play the Southeast German soccer champions. The teams from the remaining districts played the participants in a separate group for the game for the runner-up. Due to this system, teams from the Bergland, Lower Silesia and Upper Lusatia districts were no longer able to win the Southeast German football championship from the 1929/30 season. The only chance to participate in the German soccer championship was the possible win of the runner-up championship.
