Sami is a Finnish, Hungarian, Arabic and Turkish male given name and an Arabic family name . The feminine form of the Arabic name is Samia . In Japan, Sami is a rare female given name 沙 味.

Origin and meaning

Sami is a Finnish and Hungarian diminutive of Samuel and an Arabic given name ( Arabic سامي) meaning "the sublime". The Turkish first name of Arabic origin also has the meaning "high, noble (courageous), sublime".
