Scharlih
The Scharlih is the oldest award associated with the name Karl May . It is awarded at the annual Karl May Festival . The statuette was designed by the sculptor Wilfried Fitzenreiter .
The Karl May hero Winnetou used the name Scharlih for his blood brother Old Shatterhand , referring to Karl May's first name “Karl” (Charly).
