Neuenhinzenhausen Castle was a moated castle in Neuenhinzenhausen , today a district of the Altmannstein community in the Schambachtal in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt , which existed from the 16th century to 1866.

In 1353 the family of the "Hinzenhauser" was first mentioned in a document. Their first seat, Altenhinzenhausen Castle , was five kilometers north of the location of Neuenhinzenhausen Castle. The moated castle called Neuenhinzenhausen was not built until the middle of the 16th century as the new seat of the Lords of Hinzenhausen . The Muggenthalers owned the castle from 1557 to 1780 after the Fitzing family had owned the castle for some time . The castle survived the Thirty Years' War undamaged, as the hunter Johann Schneeberger and some armed helpers prevented the Swedish soldiers from destroying the castle. When the Muggenthalers died out, the De Bassus family became the owners of the moated castle. In 1866 the castle was demolished because it was in disrepair. The residents of Neuenhinzenhausen used the remains of the building as building material for their houses. In the middle of the 20th century, the moats were leveled.
