The Burgstall Obereichstätt refers to a lost moated castle near the "Lambertus Chapel" near the Altmühl in the southern part of the Obereichstätt municipality of Dollnstein in the Eichstätt district in Bavaria .
The moated castle was owned by the Lords of Tegen, a local noble ministerial family , of whom the Ministerial Heinrich Taegeno is attested with a purchase in 1305 .
The remainder of the moat ( moat ) and the Romanesque castle chapel from the 12th century, consecrated to St. Lambertus of Maastricht , are still preserved from the former moat . The castle site is now a ground monument .
