The transmitter Kitzbühel Horn is a 102 meter high transmission tower in reinforced concrete on the Kitzbühel Horn at Kitzbuehel in Austria . The Kitzbüheler Horn transmission tower does not have a cylindrical shaft. It is used for broadcasting TV and FM radio programs.

The transmission tower was put into operation on December 12, 1969 after two years of difficult construction as a combined radio and television broadcasting system for the ORF . This was preceded by lengthy and intensive negotiations with authorities and landowners.

In favor of the switch to DVB-T , the analog PAL channels ORF one (channel 5, 3 kW) and ORF 2 - Tyrol (channel 24, 30 kW) were discontinued on October 22, 2007.

Before the transmission tower was erected, Hans Hinterholzer (Elektro Hinterholzer, Kitzbühel) had been running a “converter” for Austria programs for years. Most adverse weather conditions led to failures in winter. Due to its altitude, the transmitter has a long range and can also be received outside of Tyrol.
