As Skatepark refers to a specially designed for skateboarders decorated surface on which there are obstacles ( english obstacles ) such as edges ( curbs ), railings ( rails ) and skate ramps are located. Some of these skate parks are also covered or in closed buildings, which are then called skate halls .

History and function

The first skate parks were believed to have been built in the United States .

Today, more and more cities are building skate parks or similar facilities in order to create better opportunities for leisure activities for children, young people and adults who use skate equipment. In addition to the provision of obstacles specially tailored to the needs of athletes and acrobats, which can otherwise hardly be found in the usual residential area, the advantage of closed systems is that there is also danger to the driver himself or to other people and passers-by who are in public traffic areas , and the damage to houses, banisters and other parts of the public or private infrastructure can be excluded. Skate halls also have the advantage that they can be used regardless of the weather.
