State road 9

The Finnish state road 9 ( Finnish. Valtatie 9 , Swedish. Riksväg 9 ) leads from Turku to Tohmajärvi . Its length is 663 kilometers.

Route

State road 9 at Etelä-Keljo near Jyväskylä

State Road 9 begins in the southwestern Finnish city of Turku and leads via Tampere and Jyväskylä to Vehmasmäki near Kuopio , where it joins State Road 5 . The European route 63 follows the route of the state road 9. The sections between Turku and Lieto , between Akaa and Tampere, between Muurame and Keljo near Jyväskylä, parts of the bypass of Jyväskylä and the bypass of Joensuu are developed as a motorway .

State Road 9 performs the following municipalities: Turku - Lieto - Aura - Pöytyä - Loimaa - Humppila - Urjala - Akaa - Lempäälä - Tampere - Kangasala - Orivesi - Jämsä - Muurame - Jyvaskyla - Laukaa - Hankasalmi - Suonenjoki - Kuopio - Siilinjärvi - Kuopio - Tuusniemi - Outokumpu - Liperi - Joensuu - Tohmajärvi

State road 17

The state road 17 was until 2010 a Finnish state road that connected the west state highway 5 north of Kuopio with the state road 23 from Joensuu. In 2010 it was integrated as a section of the state road 9. Since then the 9 runs together with the 5 through Kuopio.
