Steve Noble (born March 16, 1960 in Streatley , Berkshire ) is a British drummer (also live electronics, turntables ) of modern jazz and improvised music .

Noble was a student of the Nigerian drummer Elkan Ogunde . In the early 1980s he was a member of the group Rip Rig & Panic . In 1985 he took part in the Thessaloniki Jazz Festival as a member of Derek Bailey's band, with whom he continued to work in the following years.

He was also active in other groups, including a. in Tristan Honsinger's group This, That and the Other , Hans Burgeners Ki Project , Tim Hills Pandaemonium Brass Band and Trio , in the Hans Koch / Jacques Demierre Project and in Lol Coxhills Standard Conversions . He works in trio formations with Davey William and Oren Marshall or Oren Marshal and Steve Buckley and And with Derek Bailey and Pat Thomas . He forms a quartet with Pat Thomas, John Edwards and John Telfer .

He has worked for many years with the guitarist and clarinetist Alex Ward and with the pianist Alex Maguire and The Bow Gamelan Ensemble under Paul Burwell .
