No half measures

No half measures 2 - especially now! (Original title: The Whole Ten Yards ) is an American comedy film directed by Howard Deutch from 2004 . It is a sequel to the comedy No half measures from 2000. The main roles were played by Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry .

action

Cynthia, wife of Nicholas Oseransky and ex-wife of Jimmy Tudeski, becomes pregnant. She is kidnapped by the Hungarian gangsters around Lazlo Gogolak because he hopes to find Tudeski and kill him as the murderer of his son Janni. Oz travels to Mexico , where Tudeski is hiding and asks him for help, but Jimmy now likes to be an honest househusband, whereas his wife Jill wants to continue his career in the professional killer scene. Eventually Jimmy agrees to help Oz.

Initial efforts show no results, but Jimmy assures Oz that he can find Cynthia. However, there is a heated argument between Jill and Jimmy, as a result of which Jill runs away and Tudeski and Oseransky are overwhelmed. Then they are captured by Lazlo Gogolak. Jill appears, she wants to join Gogolak.

Gogolak demands that Jill kill Jimmy, which she appears to be doing. When his helpers try to get Gogolak's son Strabo (who has actually been dead for a long time, which Gogolak doesn't know) out of Jill's car, the car explodes. Jill, Jimmy and Nicholas overwhelm the gangsters. Jill wants to kill Lazlo, but Jimmy stops her.

Cynthia, Jill, Jimmy and Nicholas hear the sirens of the police cars and escape. It turns out that on the dollar bill that was removed from Gogolak, the password to an account with $ 280 million was written down. It also turns out that Jill is pregnant just like Cynthia.

Reviews

Neil Smith wrote on www.bbc.co.uk that the film was boring and pale and hopefully there would be no third part.

Michael Wilmington wrote in the Chicago Tribune that the direction and script were slightly better than in the first film. The comedy is funny in its own way, but empty.

The lexicon of international films judged: "The sequel lags behind the previous film across the board, not in terms of the quantity of ludicrous twists and turns, but its quality, since the dreary clothes primarily consist of slapstick and acting antics."

background

The film was shot in California and the Netherlands . Production costs were approximately 30-40 million US dollars (various figures) and box office income in US cinemas was 16.3 million US dollars.

The German additional title Now even more is an allusion to the third part of Die Hard , in which Bruce Willis played the leading role.
