Tongod is a small town in the Malaysian state of Sabah . It belongs to the administrative district of the same name ( Tongod District ) and is centrally located in Sabah, about 130 kilometers as the crow flies from Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu . The settlement is part of the Sandakan Division area , which includes the districts of Beluran , Kinabatangan , Sandakan and Tongod .

Infrastructure

Tongod has been connected to Telupid , 52 kilometers away, by a well-developed two-lane asphalt road since 2009 . The connection to Nabawan mainly consists of undeveloped traffic routes .
