Telupid is a small town and sub-district in Sabah , Malaysia . Telupid is located 123 kilometers west of Sandakan and belongs to the Beluran District in the Sandakan Division .

history

Telupid Sub-District was established on July 1, 1977. Initially, it was headed by an Assistant District Officer with four employees. On July 1, 1993, construction of a new administration building began. It was inaugurated on August 16, 1996 by the Minister for Rural Development, Datuk Yahya Bin Hussin. The administration now consists of an assistant district officer and 19 employees.

Demographics

According to population statistics from 2010, the small town of Telupid has 3,237 inhabitants, mostly Dusun (60%). The remaining inhabitants of the sub-district - around 10,000 people - are distributed among the villages and settlements.

  • Mukim Ulu Labuk with the settlements Kopuron (788), Lumou (550), Taviu (438), Wonod (977), Melapi (274), Tapaang (341), Telupid Batu 4 (439), Gading / Pekan (720) and of the
  • Mukim Liwogu with the settlements Gambaron (604), Bauto (713), Leninkung (350), Buis (323), Berayong (250), Kiabau (332), Ansuan (456) and Baba (165).

The Pamol palm oil plantation with its 17 settlements (Bayok, Tagas-Tagas, Lumantik, Kamansi, Tolungan Tongod, Kokos, Cenderamata, Botition, Basinti Baru, Basinti Lama (Dorom-Dorom), Basai Baru, Rungus Baru, Lintabung Darat, Timbulus , Dampiron, Monopod) has its own mukim and is co-administered from Telupid.

Infrastructure
