Freshtorge (born September 11, 1988 in Heide ; real name Torge Oelrich ) is a German comedian , actor and web video producer from Wesselburen , who is known for his YouTube channel Freshtorge . In his videos, Oelrich appears in the form of various characters .

Life

After completing secondary school in 2008, Torge Oelrich began training as an educator at the Heide vocational training center , which he successfully completed. From 2011 to August 2015 he worked at the Eider-Nordsee-Schule (elementary school, at that time still Friedrich-Hebbel-Schule) in Wesselburen , where he also lives. Since August 2015 Oelrich has been concentrating on his work as an entertainer.

He became the father of a boy on September 18, 2017 and has been married since December 2018.

Career on YouTube

Torge Oelrich was one of the first big YouTubers in German-speaking countries. His YouTube career began in 2006.

Since September 24, 2009, Torge has been shooting comedysketches and videos as a hobby with his school friend Matze, which he publishes on the Freshtorge YouTube channel . At the beginning of 2012 Freshtorge was one of the top ten German-speaking YouTube channels. In 2013 Torge was nominated in the Comedy category of the Videodays . In July 2019, he had over three million subscribers and over a billion video views and was number 28 among German Youtubers according to subscribers. On July 23, 2015, his first film, Potato Salad - Don't ask! in which he plays the lead role. YouTubers like Dagi Bee , Bibi , Simon Desue , Y-Titty , iBlali , Melina Sophie and Shirin David as well as actors like Otto Waalkes , Martin Schneider , Norbert Heisterkamp , Wolfgang Bahro and Jenny Elvers-Elbertzhagen also star in the film . The film received negative criticism in many places. The direction was directed by Michael David Pate , who already shot the miniseries Süßes or Sandra on YouTube and the movie Like Me with Freshtorge .

The film was shown in more than 500 cinemas in German-speaking countries and grossed around two million euros in the opening week, of which around one million euros was spent on the first weekend.

In 2016 he appeared in two comedy rocket episodes as a guest.

In 2017 he received the Golden Camera Digital Award in the “Comedy” category.

In January 2020 the sequel to the movie Potato Salad was released. The film is called Potato Salad 3 - The Musical , although it's only the second part. The reason for this is that the makers assumed that second parts of a film are never good.

Since 2020 there has also been the federal battle on the canal. All German federal states compete against each other with different tasks. Torge draws the tasks in a video. The state of Saxony won the first season .
