Tyler Bates (* in Los Angeles ) is an American record producer , composer and musician. He is also lead guitarist for the band Marilyn Manson .

Life

Bates grew up in Chicago . In 1993 he founded the formation Pet together with the singer Lisa Papineau . Both got a record deal with Atlantic Records and were featured on the soundtrack of The Crow: City of Angels . In addition, Bates produced other artists and was represented as a guitarist on albums by "Vas" and the " Beastie Boys ".

During this time, Tyler Bates composed first pieces for films. From 2000 he did this exclusively and was also a drummer at JBOT . Since 2014 he has also been working for and with the band Marilyn Manson .

In 2007 and 2009 he was honored with a BMI Film Music Award , and in 2010 he received the BMI Cable Award for his work on the series Californication . In the course of the activities on this series, he met the actor and singer Marilyn Manson , who had a guest appearance in the sixth season.

In 2014 he recorded the album The Pale Emperor with Manson and his band , on which he is responsible for the composition of all instrumental material. He continued this collaboration for the 2017 Manson album Heaven Upside Down . In 2017/2018 he took over the lead guitar in the band on the tour of the same name - as on the previous album.
