UGC 8613 = Arp 33 is a bar-spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo. It is estimated to be 319 million light years from the Milky Way .

Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class spiral galaxies with the shape of an integral sign (Arp catalog) . This deformation was likely caused by the neighboring galaxy PGC 214126 .
