The municipality of Vågå in Norway has an area of ​​1,330 km² with a north-south extension of 70.5 km and an east-west extension of 49.3 km and 3570 inhabitants (as of February 27, 2020).

The municipality is located in Fylke Innlandet in the lower Ottadal and is administered by the place Vågåmo.

The name Vågå comes from the old Norwegian vega , which means “to travel, drive”.

Larger settlements are Vågåmo and Lalm. The highest point is the Surtningsuen with a height of 2,368 meters.
