Association municipal council

Due to the upcoming merger of the Simmern / Hunsrück and Rheinböllen municipalities on January 1, 2020, the local elections on May 26, 2019 were already reorganized (see: Result ). The term of office of the previous community councils was extended by state law to December 31, 2019. The thus still in office for the entire calendar year 2019 local council Simmern / Hunsrück consists of 32 honorary council members, who in the local elections on May 25, 2014 in a personalized proportional representation were elected, and the full-time mayor as chairman.

Michael Boos ( SPD ) has been the mayor of the Simmern community since August 22, 2012 . In a runoff election on May 20, 2012, he received 66% of the votes cast. He replaced Manfred Faust, who left office for reasons of age.
