Veronika Hauke-Walek (* 14. June 1979 in Vienna as Veronika Hauke ) is a former Austrian triathlete . She is the triathlon state champion in the middle distance (2006, 2008) and long distance (2007). She is included in the best list of Austrian triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Veronika Hauke ​​studied at the Medical University of Vienna and works as a dentist in her father's implant center, Dr. Wolf-Dietrich Hauke.

She ran her first marathon in 2000 and started in 2004 for the first time in the Austria Triathlon over the long distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running), where she won. In 2005 the Viennese sports medicine specialist did her first Ironman in Klagenfurt . In 2006 and again in August 2008 in Litschau, Veronika Hauke ​​became triathlon state champion in the middle distance.

In 2009 she became Vice State Champion over the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).

Private

She has been married to radio presenter Tom Walek (* 1971) since 2012 and has had a daughter since May 2014.
