The WHA (Secret) Amateur Draft 1974 was the second annual talent draw of the professional ice hockey league World Hockey Association and took place in two phases - first in February and then on May 31, 1974. As part of the actual amateur draft, a total of 207 players from the league's 15 franchises were selected in 19 rounds . Previously, 30 players had already been selected in two rounds in the Secret Amateur Draft.

The first two rounds were held in secrecy in February 1974 during the current 1973/74 season . All other rounds followed on May 31 of the same year. During the first two rounds in February, only players born in the 1954 calendar year were available. Between February and May, however, the WHA worked out an agreement with the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association so that each team could select a maximum of one player in one of the first two rounds who was born in the calendar year 1955 or 1956. As a result of this agreement, the WHA changed the order of the rounds. The first two rounds held in February were therefore declared as rounds 3 and 4, so that the teams could still select these players in the first two rounds in May.

In the following, the drafts in February and May are considered separately, each beginning with the first round.
