The seal of Somaliland - which is de facto independent, but not internationally recognized as a state and officially part of Somalia - shows a balance in balance, which symbolizes the justice between the Somali . The eagle holding the scales stands for democracy, two loyal hands for equality and freedom between the inhabitants of Somaliland and the olive branch for peace. The yellow background is meant to represent the beauty of Somaliland's culture and people. Above is Islamic calligraphy بسم الله الرحمن الرحيمappropriate, which means “In the Name of Allah , Most Generous and Most Gracious” and stands for Islam , the main religion in Somaliland.
