Wendsdorf (colloquially: "Wēsdoʳf") is a district of the municipality of Großhabersdorf in the central Franconian district of Fürth .

geography

The village is about three kilometers south of Großhabersdorf on the southern slope of the Flinerlesberg. The Weihersmühlbach, a right tributary of the Bibert , and the Clarsbacher Bächlein, which flows into the Weihersmühlbach as a right tributary, flow through the village . In the southeast there is the summer tendril and the wolf pit. The communal connection road built in 1960 and expanded in 1973 leads through Wendsdorf to Fernabrünst to the district road FÜ 20 (1.8 km northeast) or to the state road 2410 near Bürglein (1 km west).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1379 as "Wensdorf". The naming suggests a settlement by the Wends in the 7th century, but this cannot be proven with certainty for Wendsdorf.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were nine properties in Wendsdorf (five courtyards, a half courtyard, a mill, two houses). The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge office Roßtal . All properties had the Cadolzburg caste office as landlord . In 1792 the Principality of Ansbach - and thus also Wendsdorf - became part of the Kingdom of Prussia .

As part of the community edict, Wendsdorf was assigned to the Fernabrünst district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the Fernabrünst rural community founded in the same year .

With the regional reform in Bavaria on January 1, 1972, Wendsdorf was incorporated into the community of Großhabersdorf.
