Werder is an uninhabited German Baltic Sea island in the area of the municipality of Mellenthin in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located in the Krienker See , a fjord-like bay of the backwater . To the west of the island is the Lieper Winkel .
Werder has an area of less than four hectares . The very flat island has an approximately triangular shape with a southern base . It consists of a small, wooded geest core , surrounded by reed- covered bank regions. Werder is not under nature protection .
