history

Prehistory and Antiquity

After Celtic and Roman settlements, the area around Ölbronn and Dürrn became Alemannic in the 3rd century and Franconian in the 5th century .

In front of the town hall in Dürrn there is a Roman Hercules memorial stone, which was found in the Dürrn district.

Ölbronn

Ölbronn in the 1684 forest inventory book by Andreas Kieser

The oldest known name Elebrunne comes from 1244 , the meaning of the place name is unknown. It is possible that Ölbronn is a planned, high medieval settlement that followed the abandoned Mühlhausen . This could explain the rural settlement complex, which is rare for the region . Mühlhausen was in the area of today's Brühl corridor , mentions are known from the 8th and 9th centuries.

In the 13th century, the local rule of Ölbronn passed from Enzbergisches and niefernschem property to the Maulbronn Monastery, which was then under the patronage of the Palatinate . In 1504 the Duchy of Württemberg conquered the maulbronn monastery territory, to which Ölbronn and numerous other villages still belonged. During the Reformation, Württemberg abolished the monastery and the monastery territory became the Württemberg monastery office of Maulbronn.

During the Thirty Years' War , Ölbronn was almost completely destroyed in 1622, only the building at Obere Steinbeisstrasse 32 (dated 1562) could have survived the inferno.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the Maulbronn Monastery Office was transformed into the Maulbronn Office . In 1938 the Maulbronn Oberamt was dissolved and Ölbronn became part of the Vaihingen district . When the Vaihingen district was dissolved in 1972, Ölbronn became part of the Enz district.

Skinny

The village of Dürrn possibly originated on the original Kieselbronn district and was politically and ecclesiastically united with Kieselbronn for a long time. Kieselbronn and Dürrn had a common mayor , and the name Kieseldürrn is documented for the 15th and 16th centuries .

The oldest known name Thurri comes from 1240 and means tower (possibly a reference to a local castle or the district boundary between Kieselbronn and the abandoned Mühlhausen).

Between the 13th and 18th centuries, local rule in Dürrn was divided into two or three parts. The Margraviate of Baden-Durlach bought in 1687 the Württemberg and nine ecki rule part, 1730 the leutrumschen part. The Karlshausen Hof (Karlshausen Castle) belonged to the district of Leutrum. Dürrn then belonged to the Baden Oberamt Pforzheim (since 1936 Pforzheim district , since 1972 Enzkreis).

Ölbronn-Dürrn

In the course of community reform in Baden-Württemberg , the old Baden community of Dürrn and the old Württemberg community of Ölbronn merged to form the new community of Ölbronn-Dürrn on July 1, 1974. That is why the residents like to call their community the “ small- scale Ländle ”.

Church history

Both places were in the Middle Ages and early modern times in the area of the Franconian diocese of Speyer . Both Dürrn and Ölbronn became Lutheran - Protestant in the 16th century during the Reformation .

Ölbronn had its own parish since 1244 , previously it had belonged to the parish of Bauschlott . Kleinvillars also belongs to today's evangelical parish of Ölbronn . In 1969 the Catholic Heiligkreuzkirche was built.

Dürrn initially belonged to the parish Kieselbronn . In 1490 the Dürrner chapel was privileged. Dürrn received its own parish in 1656, which was, however, temporarily merged with Kieselbronn.

Ölbronn

Ölbronn coat of arms

Ölbronn was first mentioned in a document in 1244 as the Elebrunnen. Today it is assumed that it is the successor settlement of the village Mühlhausen, which was probably destroyed in 926 and was first mentioned in 790 in the Lorsch Codex . Ölbronn was the tenth village of the Maulbronn monastery and belonged with this to the Electoral Palatinate . Due to the War of the Bavarian-Palatinate Succession, it came to Württemberg in 1504 . During the Thirty Years War , Ölbronn was burned down by Croatian troops on July 13, 1622 and over 500 residents were killed. In 1853 the place received a train station on the MühlackerBruchsal route .

Dürrn was first mentioned in a document in 1240, but is likely to be older. The village was owned by the Maulbronn Monastery . After the abolition of the monastery as a result of the Reformation , the community was partly in Württemberg and partly in Baden, before the Margraves of Baden also acquired the Württemberg portion in 1687. The Protestant church was built in 1738. Outside of Dürrn there was a settlement very early, which was called Thalfingen / Tailfingen / Dagolfingen.
