The Vienna EV was the champion of the Austrian ice hockey league in 1961/62 . This was the last championship title of a Viennese ice hockey team until the 2004/05 season , in which the Vienna Capitals brought the championship title back to the federal capital.

The seven clubs each played against each other twice. Not all encounters could actually be played, but the championship title undisputedly secured the Viennese EV with twelve wins from twelve games.
