The Austrian Ice Hockey League 1994/95 was played between ten clubs. Champion was the sixth time in the club's history defending champion VEU Feldkirch , who prevailed in the final against the EC VSV .
Due to the lockout of the NHL , some top games found their way into the Austrian League, including Fredrik Olausson at EC Ehrwald .
Attendees
For the 1994/95 season, the field of participants in the Bundesliga, which had recently shrunk to just four clubs, was supplemented by almost all teams from the National League . The only exceptions were the EC Kitzbühel and the UEC Mödling , in the league competed. This formed the second-highest division in the 1994/95 season as a replacement for the national league that was not played.
After three years, the Alpine League was also suspended. Instead, a European League Cup took place before the national championships were held, in which teams from Austria, Italy, Slovenia, France and Denmark participated. The VEU Feldkirch , the EC KAC , the EC VSV , the EC Graz , the CE Vienna and the Kapfenberger SV from Austria, as well as other Alpine League teams from Slovenia and Italy were there. The HC Bolzano could decide the contest itself.
mode
In the basic round, the clubs played a round-trip round - then a division took place: the best six teams determined the placement for the play-off in a round-trip, the remaining four teams played in a double round-trip for the remaining ones two quarter-finals. The playoff matches were played in the best-of-five mode.
