The 1936/37 season was the 15th edition of the Austrian ice hockey championship organized by the ÖEHV . The national championship and the Vienna championship were won by the first team of the Vienna Ice Skating Club (WEV), the provincial champions were won by the Klagenfurt Athletic Sports Club .

The WEV won the state championship with six wins from as many games.

Viennese championship

The HC Währing stopped playing on December 21, 1936, so the second team of the WEV was admitted to the league as a replacement for the promoted team.

The Vienna Championship secured the first WEV team to win all games. The ÖWSC rose to the bottom of the table without winning points in the 1st class.

1st Class

The championship of the 1st Viennese class won the Viennese AC and rose to the league. Some games of the EHC Merkur and the EV St. Pölten were not played and therefore rated retrospectively.
