The 1922/23 season was the first staging of the Austrian ice hockey championship (also disc championship ), which was organized by the ÖEHV . The first Austrian champion was the Vienna Ice Skating Club .

Attendees

Until 1922, only bandy sport , i.e. ice hockey with a ball, was practiced in Vienna . In 1922, the ÖEHV announced the first championship with the disc , in which the following teams participated, some without having ever played the so-called Canadian ice hockey :
