Łabiszewo (German Labüssow , Kashubian Łabùszewò ) is a village in the Powiat Słupski ( Stolp district ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Łabiszewo is located in Western Pomerania , about 19 kilometers southeast of the town of Słupsk ( Stolp ) and two and a half kilometers north of the church village Dobieszewo ( Groß Dübsow ).

history

The Labüssow manor was formerly an old fiefdom of the Puttkamer family , which was later owned by members of the Zitzewitz and Gottberg families. The associated village was laid out in the form of a small cul-de-sac village. After the death of the large landowner Franz Döring von Gottberg, who owned other goods in addition to Labüssow, Labüssow went to his two sons Christian Lorenz von Gottberg and Martin Heinrich von Gottberg for 5,333 Reichstaler. After the latter died, Christian Lorenz von Gottberg was the sole owner. In 1773 Labüssow was sold to Caspar Heinrich vom Zitzewitz for 5,300 Reichstaler. Around 1784 there was a farm in Labüssow, seven farmers, on the field of the village another farm, called Birkhof , with a wood-keeper's apartment and a total of 14 households. Towards the end of the 18th century and in the 19th century, the Gottbergs sat again on Labüssow. In 1847 Jakob Franz Johann Friedrich von Gottberg was the owner of the manor, then his son Otto von Gottberg († 1888). In 1900 Ulrich von Gottberg sold Gut Labüssow. In 1939 the estate was owned by Mrs. von Steegen , née from Zitzewitz.

In 1925 there were 73 residential buildings in Labüssow. In 1939 there were 94 households and 397 inhabitants.

Until 1945 the village of Labüssow belonged to the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin of the Pomerania province . The parish area was 1,322 hectares. There were three places of residence in the Labüssow district:

  • Friedrichsfelde
  • Labüssow
  • Marienfelde

In addition to the last 1,050 hectare estate, Labüssow had 19 farms.

Towards the end of the Second World War , Labüssow was occupied by the Red Army on March 8, 1945 . Later Poles came and took over houses and farms from the village. Labüssow was renamed Łabiszewo . The German villagers were expelled .

191 villagers who had come from Labüssow were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 122 in the GDR .

Today the village has about 260 inhabitants.

school

Before 1938, the Labüssow elementary school had three levels. In 1932 there were two teachers teaching 69 school children in three classes. On August 15, 1938, a new two-class school was inaugurated. There were two apartments in the new school building, and a farm building belonged to it.

church

The population present in Labüssow before 1945 was predominantly of the Protestant denomination. In 1925 the village had four residents of Catholic religion. Labüssow belonged to the parish of Groß Dübsow and thus to the parish of Stolp-Altstadt.
