Łatana Mała ( German Klein Lattana , 1938 to 1945 Kleinheidenau ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Wielbark (city and rural community Willenberg ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).
Geographical location
Łatana Mała is located in Lattanabruch ( Bagna Łatana in Polish ) in the southern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 19 kilometers southeast of the district town of Szczytno ( German Ortelsburg ).
history
Klein Lattana was a settlement in the meliorated Lattanabruch. In the founding hand- fest on July 14, 1814, 14 Kätner were granted proportionate Lattanabruch land. A place of very scattered small courtyards was created.
Between 1874 and 1945, which was rural community Klein Lattana in the District United Lattana (Polish Latana Wielka ) integrated, the - the - 1938 in "District Großheidenau" renamed East Prussian district Szczytno belonged.
In 1910 there were 170 inhabitants registered in Klein Lattana. Their number dropped to 145 by 1933.
Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population voted in the referendums in East and West Prussia on July 11, 1920 on whether they would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus Germany) or join Poland. In Klein Lattana, 120 people voted to stay with East Prussia, Poland had 2 votes.
On June 3, 1938 - officially confirmed on July 16 - Klein Lattana was renamed "Kleinheidenau" for political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign-sounding place names. In 1939 the village had 147 inhabitants.
As a result of the war, Kleinheidenau came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of name “Łatana Mała”. Today the small village is a place within the Gmina Wielbark (Willenberg ) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011 the village had 53 inhabitants.

Until 1945 Klein Lattana resp. Kleinheidenau was incorporated into the Protestant Church of Willenberg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and into the Roman Catholic parish in Groß Leschienen ( Lesiny Wielkie in Polish ) in what was then the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Łatana Mała belongs again to the Catholic parish church in Lesiny Wielkie , now in the Archdiocese of Warmia . The Protestant residents orientate themselves towards the church in Szczytno (Ortelsburg) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Łatana Mała is located on a side street that connects Targetsiec ((Groß) Radzienen , 1938 to 1945 Hügelwalde) with Łatana Wielka (Groß Lattana , 1938 to 1945 Großheidenau) . There is no rail connection.
