Żelki (German Groß Silkow ) is a village in the municipality of Kobylnica in the Powiat Słupski (Stolper Kreis) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship . It is part of the Żelkówko Schulzenamt .

Geographical location

Żelki is located in Western Pomerania , about 15 kilometers south of Słupsk ( Stolp ), 12 kilometers south-southeast of Kobylnica ( Kublitz ) and 102 kilometers west of the regional metropolis of Gdansk .

history

Originally the villages of Groß Silkow and Klein Silkow belonged to a single manor district that the Wobeser and Zitzewitz families owned together. Other forms of the estate name are Szellekow , Selkow and Syllekow . The two owner families were related to each other. In 1337 Martin von Wobeser is mentioned. In 1687 both parts of the estate came to the Wobeser family, under whom the entire estate was then united until 1810. United Silkow was a line village was created. Around 1784 there was a farm in Groß Silkow, seven farmers, two kossäts , a schoolmaster and a total of 18 households. At that time half of the estate was in the Stolp district and the other half in the Rummelsburg district . In 1925 there were 29 houses in Groß Silkow. In 1939 there were 231 inhabitants in Groß Silkow, who were distributed over 50 households. Werner Krüger is named as the last landowner in Groß Silkow in 1938 .

Before the end of World War II United Silkow official residence was the administrative district United Silkow in county Stolp , administrative region of Pomerania , the province of Pomerania . The parish area was 950 hectares.

Towards the end of the Second World War, the region fell into the hands of the Red Army on March 7, 1945 . Soon afterwards, Groß Silkow was placed under Polish administration. Great Silkow was renamed Żelki . The German residents were expelled. The estate was nationalized, but remained in Soviet hands until 1952. In 1952 it became a state farm ( Państwowe Gospodarstwo Rolne ) and in 1970 the farm in Kwakowo was assigned. At the beginning of the 1990s, operations were stopped.

Later, 78 villagers displaced from Groß Silkow were identified in the FRG and 58 in the GDR .

In 2009 Żelki had 53 inhabitants.
