Emergence

Under the overall artistic direction of Andreas Dresen , well-known directors shot stories about the country and people between Uckermark and Lausitz. Dresen has combined 20 short documentaries, each 15 minutes long, which represent the directors' personal point of view - one of them by Dresen himself about the workers in a truck factory - to form a five-hour complete documentary work about the state of Brandenburg and its people. “Something like this is called a bus project in the industry. Everyone involved is on a journey with a common goal, but everyone can look out the window in their own way and make very different discoveries. " (Andreas Dresen)

The partial films shot by 20 film teams at 20 different locations in the summer of 2010 show a wide variety of topics from the most varied of regions of the country from the perspective of the respective directors. 300 minutes of broadcast were cut from a total of 10,000 minutes of film material.

The first broadcast was on October 1st, 2010 from 8.15 p.m. on rbb television. The audience rating was 8.5 percent; 170,000 viewers across Germany saw the film, 130,000 of them in Berlin and Brandenburg.
