Alois Bröder

Alois Bröder (born January 20, 1961 in Darmstadt ) is a German composer .

Life

He took his first guitar lessons (since 1977) and composition lessons (from 1983 to 1985) with Cord Meijering . While he deepened his composition lessons with Dietrich Boekle , he began his guitar studies with Olaf Van Gonnissen at the Darmstadt Academy of Music in 1982 , which he completed in 1986. In 1985 he began studying composition with Toni Völker, also in Darmstadt, which he finished in 1989. In 1993 he continued his composition studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Manfred Trojahn . From 1995 to 1999 Alois Bröder studied electronic composition with Hans Ulrich Humpert at the University of Music in Cologne .

His list of works currently includes around 110 works for a wide variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles , with compositions for orchestra and chamber music for guitar emerging as the focus of his work .

Artists its orchestral music have included the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (Conductor Michiyoshi Inoue), the Radiophilharmonie Hannover of the NDR (Conductor Johannes Kalitzke ), the RTV Slovenija Symphony Orchestra Ljubljana (Conductor Lior Shambadal ) which Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz (Conductor Ari Rasilainen ) and the Bielefelder Philharmoniker (conductor Peter Kuhn ). Interpreters of his guitar music were among others Olaf Van Gonnissen, Tilman Hoppstock , Jürgen Ruck, Christoph Jäggin, Christopher Brandt and Maximilian Mangold.

In 1998 he received a scholarship for the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris , in 2003 the Moldavian scholarship for a stay at the Egon Schiele Art Center in Český Krumlov and in 2011 the scholarship for the German Study Center in Venice . For his compositions he won the 1993 “Contest for orchestra works to commemorate the semicentennial of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government” for “Îsôt als blansche mains” and in 1992 for the “1. International Composition Competition for Guitar and Strings Berlin ”for“ Jumps ”.

His works have been published by the following publishers, among others: Edition Gravis Berlin , Verlag Neue Musik Berlin, Heinrichshofen's Verlag Wilhelmshaven and Edition Tonger Cologne / Karlsruhe . In 2000 a portrait CD was released by the Melisma Wiesbaden label , and in 2008 by Dreyer.Gaido the CD chamber music with guitar .
