Arielle, the Mermaid 2 - Longing for the Sea

Ariel, the Mermaid - How it all began is the sequel to the film Ariel, the Mermaid from 1989 and Ariel, the Mermaid 2 - Longing for the Sea from 2000 , which was released on DVD in the USA in August 2008 .

The plot of the film revolves around the story of Ariel before the first part of the series.

action

The plot of the film is portrayed by Sebastian the Crab, who begins by telling the story of King Triton and his Queen Athena. King Triton, the king of Atlantica, the city of mermen, gives his beloved wife and mother of his seven daughters (Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, Andrina and Arielle) a music box that plays their song. When Athena has a fatal accident one day, Triton sinks into deep sadness and bitterness. He throws the music box that remains behind far away. He can no longer stand the sound of music and therefore prohibits dancing and singing throughout the kingdom.

Ten years later, the young Princess Arielle is tired of going through the same routine every day. She longs for changes in her life, which is completely lackluster without music.

When, during a punishment imposed by her father, she met the fish Fabius, whom she observed making music, she was completely blown away. Meanwhile, King Triton instructs his adviser Sebastian to watch Ariel, as she has been particularly rebellious lately and he doesn't have the impression that her nanny Marina Del Rey can handle her alone. Marina is furious because she is actually after Sebastian's job and a promotion.

The following night, Arielle secretly follows Fabius behind the seaweed forests and comes across a secret underground club where music is played. It turns out that Sebastian is also singing there, and Arielle is eventually accepted with them. The next day she tells her sisters about the club and brings them with her the following night. The girls are fascinated by the music, but Marina, who has followed them, betrays them to the king, who with his guards blows up the club. Beside himself with anger he orders his daughters to stay in the palace and has Sebastian and his band locked in the dungeon. Marina is named Triton's new advisor. Arielle can no longer bear this injustice and frees Sebastian, Fabius and the others from the dungeon. She wants to flee with them from Atlantica. Sebastian leads her to a remote place where Arielle discovers her father's music box, just as the crab had planned. She realizes that her father just forgot how to be happy and wants to remind him with the music box.

In the palace, Triton has since noticed that his daughter has disappeared and starts looking for her. Marina, who fears that Sebastian could be dangerous to her in her new position, lets her electric eels loose on him and Arielle.

Arielle and her friends make their way back to Atlantica, but are surprised by Marina's electric eels and have to flee. The band, who had previously split from them, rushes to the mermaid's aid and it looks like they have won when Arielle is suddenly injured by Marina. Triton appears just then and sees his wounded daughter and the music box. He realizes that this is not what his wife Athena would have wanted and, after they have returned to Atlantica, enacts a new law: music and singing are allowed again, and Marina and her meek henchman Benjamin ( manatee ) end up in the Dungeon. From then on Triton wants to look after his daughters himself and is visibly happier than before. Arielle brought music back to Atlantica and everyone is celebrating this happy day.
