Audomar Scheuermann

Audomar Scheuermann (born July 3, 1908 in Nuremberg as Konrad Scheuermann ; † May 6, 2000 in Munich ) was a German Roman Catholic priest , canonist and professor of canonical criminal and procedural law.

Life

Scheuermann entered the Franciscan order in 1926 and took the name Audomar. He studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the order's own university in Munich until 1932 . He was ordained a priest on March 19, 1932 in Munich . From 1935 he studied canonical studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität , in parallel with law . In 1938 he acquired the Dr. theol. with a thesis on the exemption in the department of canon law. He then worked as a teacher for canon law at the seminary in Freising until 1942 and in the same year became a prosynodal judge at the archbishopric consistory and metropolitan court of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising . In 1953 he was appointed archiepiscopal vice-official. From 1956 Scheuermann worked as professor for canonical litigation and criminal law as well as for marriage law at the LMU Munich. In 1957 Scheuermann was incardinated in the clergy of the archdiocese . In 1961 and 1962 Scheuermann was Dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty and from 1963 to 1987 a member of the Bavarian Senate . From September 1968 to August 1969 he was rector of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.
