Own brands of mobile network operators

Network operator Telefónica Germany

Blue cellular network

The Blue mobile launched with the tariff model "blau.de" on 16 September 2005 in the former network of E-Plus. The founders were the former operators of handy.de Martin Ostermayer, Thorsten Rehling and Dirk Freise. The “blauworld” tariff model followed on April 19, 2006 . In September 2007 blau.de had around 600,000 customers.

Since 2013, “Blau Mobilfunk” has belonged directly to the respective network operator, since 2014 in this case to Telefónica. Since July 2015 it has only been a Telefónica brand, and since the end of 2016 customers have also technically migrated to the O2 platform.

Fonic

Fonic is a second brand of Telefónica Germany, which entered the mobile phone discounter market in cooperation with the food discounter Lidl at the beginning of September 2007 with a prepaid tariff. Fonic was able to acquire 200,000 customers within four months. After further advertising campaigns, the subsidiary of the Telefónica Group increased the number of customers to 2 million customers by May 23, 2011. The company acquired around 225,000 of these in the first quarter of 2011. Since October 1, 2016, SIM cards have only been available online on the official website, but it is possible to purchase appropriate prepaid cards in individual retail chains.

At the end of March 2016, Fonic Mobile informed its customers via SMS that Fonic GmbH was being transferred to Telefónica Germany GmbH on April 1, 2016. Fonic is just a brand.

Since May 20, 2010, Telefónica Germany, in cooperation with YOC AG for a short time, has been offering several advertising-financed prepaid tariffs for Internet or telephony and SMS under the name “netzclub”. By creating an interest profile and accepting a maximum of 30 advertising messages by e-mail, post (optional) and SMS, you received e.g. B. 200 MB data volume with subsequent speed reduction (64 kbit / s). The unit price was 11 cents per minute and SMS. At least one advertising message had to be actively answered or clicked, otherwise the free volume was temporarily suspended.

Ortel

Ortel Mobile is a new establishment of the Dutch mobile operator KPN as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in Germany, which started in 2010. The target group are citizens of foreign origin, as there are international telephony packages outside the EU. Ortel prepaid cards have been marketed in the O 2 shops since August 2015 .

fraenk

fraenk was founded at the end of April 2020 and is a brand of Telekom Deutschland. Only a tariff with EU-wide validity is offered, a special feature is that the brand is only advertised via app and customer service can only be reached via chat. In addition, there is no data flat, just a data volume that can be used up. The model here is the freenet Funk brand.

discoTEL

discoTEL is a brand of Drillisch Online GmbH, it was launched on April 29, 2009.

It uses the O 2 network, but in the beginning it also uses the Telekom and Vodafone networks. The tariffs can be purchased on account or in advance, but are not “real” prepaid.

As of February 1, 2016, discoTEL adjusted the tariff structure and replaced the previous “discoTEL Plus” tariff with “discoTEL 6 Cent”. Since then, one has paid 6 cents for every minute of conversation, SMS and per MB of data transfer. In the new tariff, Discotel also offers LTE access to the O2 cellular network with up to 21.6 Mbit / s. Eteleon

M2M mobile

M2M-mobil is a brand of Drillisch Online GmbH and started on December 5, 2012. The tariff is designed for professional data usage ( machine to machine ). Areas of application are, for example, the remote control and checking of machines, energy metering, the remote monitoring of buildings ( building automation ), telemedicine or logistics .

The M2M mobile plus tariff is available in the O 2 network, the M2M mobile smart tariff in the D network with 1 MB included volume each. Data packages from 5 MB to 1 GB can be booked in addition to the two tariffs. The transmission speed is up to 7.2 Mbit / s. The data package can be canceled on a monthly basis.

maXXim

In May 2008, MS Mobile Services GmbH started with an offer for 8 cents per minute. In the meantime, there are also mobile phone tariffs and flat rates without a term in the O 2 network . n-tv go!

simplytel (until July 2020: simply ) started in spring 2005 and was spun off as a subsidiary by the wireless service provider Drillisch on October 24, 2005. The Lebara Group was founded in 2001. Lebara Mobile, headquartered in London, started the first international mobile service in the Netherlands in 2004. klarmobil.de is a mobile communications discounter based in Büdelsdorf, which uses the Telekom, O 2 and Vodafone networks with its postpaid offer . In September 2007 klarmobil had around 450,000 customers. Klarmobil GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Freenet AG.

MTV Mobile

MTV Mobile, then still “VIVAmobile”, was a tariff that started in 2005 in the E-Plus network at the time. The discounter had been part of Telefónica since 2014 and used its network. Prepaid and postpaid tariffs were marketed, which were particularly suitable for young people, as they were equipped with many telephony units or data volumes depending on the type of use. Edeka smart is a prepaid mobile communications brand from Telekom Deutschland Multibrand, which operates on behalf of the Edeka group in the LTE network using Telekom's Germany-wide hotspots. Nettokom is a brand for prepaid products offered by Telefónica Germany in cooperation with the Netto Marken-Discount retail chain . "Penny Mobil" and "ja! WhatsApp SIM

WhatsApp SIM was launched on April 7, 2014 in cooperation with the WhatsApp messenger app and the network operator Telefónica Deutschland Holding. As a special feature, the data volume resulting from the use of the WhatsApp service is not calculated up to a level of 1 GB. To do this, however, 5 euros must be charged at least once every 6 months. Two WhatsAll options for 5 or 10 euros per month can be booked as an option. Either 1,000 or 4,000 units are then available, which can be used individually for minutes, SMS or MB. ADAC mobile radio for members

In December 2008, ADAC started a partnership with the then network operator E-Plus. E-Plus also brokered membership contracts and advertising for ADAC with the help of its own website. Over time, after the merger of E-Plus and Telefónica, the tariff was discontinued. Existing customers were recommended to switch to the O 2 brand BASE .

Alice Mobile

Since March 2009, the Internet service provider HanseNet has also been offering mobile communications unbundled from the DSL offer in the O 2 network. A DSL connection was not absolutely necessary for some time to use the product. Since the beginning of 2011, the cellular connection was tied to Alice's DSL product again. Since the purchase of Alice / HanseNets by Telefónica, the tariff is only active for existing customers and is no longer marketed.

allmobil advertised under the motto “Everything simple, everything mobile” . It belonged to allMobility Deutschland GmbH, which was merged with Vodafone GmbH. The tariff can no longer be ordered. BigSIM

The prepaid discount brand BigSIM from FlexiShop GmbH from Oestrich-Winkel with a standard tariff of 8 cents per minute and SMS started on April 6, 2009 and initially used the Telekom network. BigSim wasn't a real brand at first, but an additional marketing platform from Maxxim. This was discontinued in August 2018.

Picture mobile

Bildmobil was available since October 16, 2007 and used the Vodafone network. It first belonged to Moconta GmbH, whose business was later transferred to allMobility Deutschland GmbH - a 100% subsidiary of Vodafone GmbH. The tariff was offered directly in cooperation with Bild (Axel Springer Verlag) and also used the newspaper's sales outlets. The technical implementation was carried out directly by Vodafone. Just two weeks after the start of marketing, Bildmobil had more than 100,000 customers. Che Mobil

Che Mobil AG, a subsidiary of the French group Scoot Mobile SA, was founded in August 2006 and, as an MVNO, offered a prepaid discount offer that enabled low-cost tariffs, particularly for mobile calls from abroad to Germany. Within Germany, Che Mobil used the network infrastructure of the former provider E-Plus via the MVNE Telogic.

In March 2008, Che Mobil ceased sales, and in August 2008 customers were transferred to Solomo .

debitel-light

“Debitel-light” was the prepaid no-frills offer from the mobile service provider debitel . debitel-light was handed over to blau.de in November 2006 . debitel acquired 24.9% in blau.de. In 2011 the brand was restarted and continued in the Freenet AG / Mobilcom-Debitel company. Sales ended in 2020, new tariffs can no longer be booked, but existing prepaid cards can still be used.

discoplus

In March 2010, eteleon AG introduced discoplus. discoplus used the Telefónica network. There were many tariffs that were divided into different categories and could be canceled on a monthly basis. The Drillisch brand was discontinued at the end of 2018, but existing tariffs can still be used by existing customers.

discoSURF

discoSURF was a brand of eteleon AG, which belonged 100% to the group of the listed mobile phone service provider Drillisch AG. The discoSURF tariff started on November 26th, 2009. All tariffs were pure data flat rates with a one-month contract term and could then be terminated in writing at the end of the month.

With the discoSURF tariffs, a high-speed surfing speed of up to 7.2 Mbit / s was possible. After reaching the respective data volume, the GPRS speed was reduced to a maximum of 64 kbit / s in the download and 16 kbit / s in the upload. The tariffs were available in the D network and in the O 2 network.

Upon request, the discoSURF tariff was also available together with a surf stick or a mobile W-LAN hotspot for an additional charge. The brand was discontinued in August 2018, although existing customers can continue to use it via the etelon service platform.

eBay mobile

eBay -Mobil has been available since mid-2008 and was founded together with congstar in the Telekom network. With this tariff you could surf the eBay site for free. The tariff was discontinued at the end of April 2010 and is only continued for existing customers.

Edeka mobile

Edeka mobil was a mobile phone tariff from Edeka, which was launched on October 17, 2008 and ran in the Vodafone network. The product was offered by Edeka and all food retailers cooperating with Edeka (E-Center, Neukauf, Aktivmarkt, Frischemarkt, Nah & Gut, NP-Discount and Marktkauf) and offered its customers a basic rate of 9 cents per minute and SMS. In addition, all customers could call landlines in 54 countries for 9 cents. In addition to a mobile Internet flat rate introduced in April 2011, Edeka also offered various community flat rates on the move. The mobile internet was limited to a maximum of 21.6 Mbit / s. In 2018, the cooperation with Vodafone was terminated by Edeka and the brand itself was finally discontinued in the following year. The successor is Edeka smart in cooperation with Telekom.

fastSIM

fastSIM was a brand of eteleon AG, which belonged 100% to the group of the listed mobile phone service provider Drillisch. It can still be used by existing customers.

GALERIAmobil

In cooperation with the department store chain Galeria Kaufhof , the MVNO GTCom launched the prepaid discounter “GALERIAmobil” on the German mobile communications market in October 2012. Initially at E-Plus, it was part of Drillisch Online until it was hired in May 2020. The tariff cost 5 cents per minute in the German cellular networks and the fixed network.

Hellomobil

Hellomobil started in February 2010 as the first 8-cent tariff with an internet flat rate and is a brand of Drillisch Telecom GmbH. Since March 2012 6 cents per minute / SMS have been charged in the O 2 network. This brand was discontinued by Drillisch at the end of 2018, but existing tariffs can still be used by existing customers.

igge & ko

"Igge & ko" was a regional mobile phone brand that was sold in coop eG's sky and plaza supermarkets in Schleswig-Holstein. It was marketed by MACH 3 Marketing GmbH & Co. KG . Operations were discontinued due to the bankruptcy of MVNE Telogic.

Jamba! Sim

“Jamba! Sim” from the ringtone provider Jamba used the E-Plus network at the time. Marketing to new customers was discontinued at the beginning of November 2007.

K-Classic Mobil

K-Classic Mobil was a branding brand offered by Telefónica Germany, which was aimed at its customers in cooperation with the grocery chain Kaufland. They used a 9-cent tariff in their own network, and there were tariffs with a data volume of up to 1,500 MB. The brand was sold through Kaufland branches as well as online. At the end of April 2020, sales were discontinued with the launch of the new Kaufland mobile brand, existing customers could continue to use it.

Lidl Mobile

Lidl Mobile was a private label of the discounter chain Lidl . In the “Classic” tariff, she used a 9-cent tariff via Fonic , which in turn belongs to Telefónica. There was also an all-net flat rate including 500 MB data volume without a contract. The tariffs and the addition of credit could be booked by SMS to a speed dial of the operator.

Lidl ended its marketing and collaboration with Telefónica in October 2015 and opened a collaboration with Vodafone with Lidl Connect. Existing customers were transferred to Fonic.

Localists Fon

“Lokalisten Fon” is aimed at the users of the online community “ Lokalisten” ; conversations within the community are subject to a lower price. The O 2 network was used. The tariff was discontinued on June 1, 2011.

McSIM

McSIM was part of Drillisch Online and offered voice and data tariffs. These were implemented in the network of Vodafone and O2. The brand was discontinued at the end of 2018. The tariffs can still be used for existing customers.

Rewecom

The prepaid and postpaid variants under the name “Rewecom”, which started at the same time as Penny Mobil and were offered directly by the then T-Mobile Deutschland GmbH in cooperation with the Rewe Group , have not been sold since the beginning of 2007.

RTLmobil

RTLmobil has been available since August 18, 2008 and ran on congstar. You could surf the RTL mobile portal for free. The tariff was discontinued at the end of April 2010 and is only continued for existing customers.

ring

"Ring Mobilfunk GmbH" went on the market on September 1, 2009 with the "ring" offer with minute and SMS prices of 9 cents. It offered ring customers free flash SMS messages . In 2014 it was discontinued as part of the acquisition of E-Plus by Telefonicà and the GmbH was dissolved.

Schlecker mobile / simply prepaid

At the end of 2008, the Schlecker drug store chain started with the prepaid product "Schlecker mobil" . There were free calls between customers of the provider, as well as 9 cents per minute and SMS in all German networks, as well as a data flat rate for € 9.99 per month. This offer was implemented via the Telefónica mobile network. Since Schlecker went bankrupt in 2012, no new customers have been accepted, but the service will continue for existing customers. As of July 31, 2016, the brand was renamed Simple Prepaid .

SimTim

SimTim was launched on September 27, 2011 as a brand of AnalyticaA Performance Marketing GmbH. The tariff uses the Telefónica Germany network, the call minute and SMS cost 7.5 cents. The prepaid tariff was only available through the company's own online shop. SimTim is now discontinued.

Simyo

Simyo was a German mobile phone discounter that used the Telefónica network and offered both a prepaid and a postpaid tariff. In September 2007 simyo had around 900,000 customers, and at the end of 2010 around 1.32 million customers. In 2008 KPN , the parent company of E-Plus and simyo , took over blau. Simyo is a 100 percent subsidiary of Telefónica. In 2016, Simyo customers were then completely switched to blue.

solomo

solomo was a prepaid discounter offer available since the beginning of 2007 (until May 2007 under the name vistream Friends & Family ) and realized via the no longer existing MVNE Telogic. Solomo filed for bankruptcy in October 2012.

Speach

A new prepaid discounter from Telogic was launched on August 1, 2009 under the brand name Speach. Via the provider's homepage, customers were able to purchase Speach products from popular online shops and at the same time collect bonus points (free minutes) and exchange them for call credit. The bonus system has been operating independently under the “Freiminuten.de” brand since September 1, 2010, is operated by Speach Media GmbH and enables the collected free minutes to be redeemed at most mobile phone providers. Since Telogic went bankrupt, the entire offering has been discontinued.

Sunsim

The discounter “Sunsim”, which started in October 2006, also used the services of MVNE Telogic. The brand has not been sold since August 2010.

smobile

"Smobil" was the prepaid tariff model of the drugstore chain Schlecker, which used the network infrastructure of Vodafone. After a regionally limited test phase beginning in April 2006, it has been offered throughout Germany via the Schlecker branch network since the end of May 2006. In September 2007 smobil had around 500,000 customers. After Schlecker went bankrupt, marketing was ended.

VIVA Mobile

VIVA Mobile from the TV broadcaster Viva offers a tariff model based on Telefónica with a focus on heavy use of SMS. At the beginning of 2011, the VIVA Mobile brand was abandoned and replaced by myMTVmobile Prepaid. In November 2011, the company was renamed MTV Mobile. In August 2014, the prepaid card was taken out of marketing.

vybemobile

vybemobile was a Phone & Music service launched on October 2, 2006 in cooperation with Universal Music . In addition to mobile phone tariffs, the provider also offers its customers services such as ring tones for mobile phones, audio samples of new pieces of music or exclusive music or star news that can be accessed via its own WAP portal. The tariff is processed via postpaid. Existing customers can continue to use the prepaid variant initially offered.

vybemobile was managed by the then E-Plus as a brand of the E-Plus Group. On December 22nd, 2011 it was announced that the then E-Plus Group wanted to dissolve the vybemobile brand, as the contract with the partner Universal Music ended on December 31st, 2011. According to this, vybemobile customers could no longer carry out free music downloads, which meant a worsening of the contractual conditions. Existing vybemobile customers had an extraordinary right of termination at the end of the year. Since January 1, 2012, vybemobile has stopped accepting new customers.

wkw-mobile

wkw-Mobil was the official mobile phone provider of the former social internet portal sucht-wen.de . This was a postpaid tariff that had been marketed in cooperation with Vodafone since September 2009. The wkw-Mobil tariff included a flat rate for calls to one another, as well as sending SMS messages and a flat rate that could be booked into the German landline network and the Internet. Another aspect that was supposed to target the special features of social networks was the refer-a-friend offer: If a customer referred a friend, both of them received a credit of 15 €. The tariff has now been discontinued.

Youni mobile

Youni mobile, marketed from April 10, 2007 to December 31, 2008, was a nationwide mobile communications service implemented in the E-Plus network at the time, operated in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden and the Dresden Student Union . The brand was mostly run by students and is aimed at a young target group or with special services for students . The name is an allusion to it. Youni is a suitcase word from You and Uni, which corresponds to "You and your Uni ". The aim of the UMTS prepaid offer is to build a mobile community and an information portal based on social network effects . The card is no longer available, existing customers can continue to use their SIM card .
