Baláz's Kiss (wrestler)
Balázs Kiss (born January 27, 1983 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian wrestler . He was the 2009 Greco-Roman World Light Heavyweight Champion .
Career
Balázs Kiss started wrestling as a teenager in 1992. Since his first major successes at national level, he has been racing for the top Hungarian club VSC Ganz (Locomotive) Budapest . There he is trained by the former world class wrestler Ferenc Takacs . He only wrestles in the Greco-Roman style. Balázs Kiss is also very well known in Germany's wrestling circles, because he has been wrestling with German clubs in the Bundesliga for several years. First for the ASV Schorndorf and then for the RKG Freiburg 2000 . In 2010 ASV Nendingen signed Kiss, but was not able to use it due to a doping ban.
Balázs Kiss was already extremely successful as a junior wrestler. Already at the age of 15 he became Junior World Champion with the Cadets (age group up to 16 years) in Pretoria , which was followed by a success at the Junior European Championships (Juniors) in Bratislava in 2000 in the middleweight division. In 2002 he was in Subotica junior European middleweight champion before the strong Greek Theodoros Tounossidis and in 2003 he was runner- up at the junior world championship in Istanbul with a point defeat in the final against Denis Forow from Russia .
In 2003 he took part in the European Senior Championships in Belgrade , where he won middleweight victories over Fred de Vos, Netherlands and Tarvi Thomberg, Estonia . After a defeat against Tuomo Mäntyläe from Finland he was eliminated and only came in 9th place. At the world championship this year in Créteil he won a. a. via Gotcha Ziziaschwili from Israel , but lost in the 3rd round against Artur Michalkiewicz from Poland , which threw him back to 16th place.
In 2004 Balázs Kiss missed at tournaments in Novi Sad and Tashkent with a 16th place and an 18th place qualifying for the Olympic Games in Athens . As a small consolation for him, his 2nd place in the middleweight division at the 2004 World University Championships in Łódź , where he finished 2nd behind Russian Denis Schokaria.
Balázs Kiss, who was so successful as a junior, also had a hard time with the seniors in 2006. He now started in the light heavyweight division in order to be able to do without excessive training. At the European Championships this year in Moscow he defeated Mirko Englich from Germany and Heiki Nabi from Estonia , but lost to Schota Narmanja from Belarus and came in 7th place. At the 2007 World Cup, Balázs Kiss was not at the start.
Balázs Kiss then won his first medal at an international senior championship at the 2007 European Championships in Sofia . He won there in the light heavyweight division over Timofej Dschejnichenko, Belarus , Marek Švec , Czech Republic and Georgios Koutsioubas , Greece . He lost on points against Jimmy Lidberg from Sweden in the semi-finals, but secured an EM bronze medal with a point win over Dimitri Timtschenko from Ukraine . At the 2007 World Cup in Baku he suffered another setback, because after defeating Mirko Englich he lost his next fight against Ghasem Rezaie from Iran, was eliminated and only came in 18th.
In 2008 Balázs Kiss came at the European Championships in Tampere in the light heavyweight division in 12th place. He had not yet qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing . However, he did not take part in any other qualifying tournaments for these games in the following years and was therefore not at the start in Beijing.
In 2009 Balázs Kiss was eliminated from the European Championships in Vilnius with a defeat against Heiki Nabi after the first round and only placed in 18th place. At the 2009 World Championships in the Danish Herning but he was in great shape and defeated one after Oliver haters from Germany (7: 4 points, 2: 1 rounds), Heiki Nabi, Dawid Saldadse , Uzbekistan , Amir Aliakhbari, Iran and fight for victory Jimmy Lidberg from Sweden (3: 2 points, 2: 1 rounds), who had previously defeated the 2008 Olympic champion Aslanbek Chuschtow from Russia in the other semi-final match. After returning to the wrestling mat after his doping ban had expired, Balasz Kiss could no longer build on his earlier successes. He started in April 2011 at the European Championships in Dortmund . After victories over Aldas Lukosaitis, Lithuania and Mirko Englich he lost there against Timofei Deinitschenko and against David Vála , Czech Republic, and only came in 9th place. At the 2011 World Cup in Istanbul , he only won against Georgous Koutsioubas from Greece and then retired from Turkey after a defeat against Cenk İldem . He finished 14th.
In 2012 he tried in vain to qualify for the Olympic Games in London at the tournaments in Sofia , Taiyuan / People's Republic of China and Helsinki .
In 2016 he was 11th at the Olympic Games in the weight class up to 130 kg. Balázs Kiss is currently wrestling for SV Untergriesbach (as of the end of 2016).
