The Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Road , abbreviated NICE Road , officially called Bengaluru-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor , abbreviated BMIC , is a planned, partly under construction and partly completed four-lane, toll highway , which connects the two cities of Bengaluru and Mysore in the Indian state Karnataka connects. The aim is to reduce the travel time between the two cities from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours.
The project consists of three parts: the 111 km long Bangalore – Mysore Expressway, the 41 km long Bangalore Peripheral Expressway shown on the map and the 9.1 km long connecting road from the Bangalore Peripheral Expressway to downtown Bangalore. Currently, only the connecting road and the Peripheral Expressway are in operation, construction of the Bangalore – Mysore Expressway began in May 2019 in the 56.2 km long section from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Mandya , which is due to be completed in November 2021. The second 61 km stretch from Nidaghatta to Mysore will be tackled later. In July 2019 problems arose at the construction site of the first section because landowners are obstructing the construction work, even though they had received compensation for their land.
