The Eastern Peripheral Expressway or Kundli – Ghaziabad – Palwal Expressway , abbreviated KGP , or National Expressway 2 , abbreviated NE2 , is a 135 km long, six-lane expressway that runs through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh . Together with National Expressway 1, it forms an expressway ring around Delhi .
history
The Eastern Peripheral Expressway was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 27, 2018 to help reduce pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). The six-lane highway connects Kundli and Palwal in Haryana via Ghaziabad and is intended to relieve the NCR roads of traffic jams.
