The DND Flyway or Delhi Noida Direct Flyway is a 9.2 km long Indian expressway that connects Delhi with Noida . The main structure is the 552.5 m long Delhi Noida Bridge over the Yamuna . The road has eight lanes and is designed for traffic of up to 222,000 vehicles per day.
history
The Indian Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services , Delhi and Noida signed a joint letter of intent in April 1992 to build the bridge under the BOOT operator model (Build Own Operate Transfer). A stakeholder steering committee has been set up to monitor the execution of the project. For its implementation, the special purpose vehicle Noida Toll Bridge Company Ltd. (NTBCL) founded.
In November 1997 the concession agreement between Noida , NTBCL and IL&FS was signed, which gave NTBCL the right to collect tolls in order to collect the costs for the construction, operation and maintenance of the DND Flyway, whereby the concession expires as soon as 20% of the Costs were incurred.
The expressway was opened to traffic on February 2001. It was one of the first public-private partnerships , and construction costs were estimated at 408.2 crore rupees (100 million US dollars ). The project was completed ahead of schedule within the cost estimate.
Since October 2016 no toll has been charged.
