National Highway 61 ( NH 61 ) is a major highway in northeast India with a length of 240 kilometers. It begins in Jhanji in the state of Assam at NH 37 and after 20 km through this state leads another 220 km through the neighboring state of Nagaland , where its capital Kohima ends at NH 39 .
