The Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is a planned expressway in India to connect the cities of Bengaluru and Chennai .

The motorway will cut the travel time between the two cities from six to four hours. The construction of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway was decided in 2011. Construction was scheduled to start in September or October 2019, but there were delays during the tendering process.

The 262 km long road begins in Hoskote in the state of Karnataka , runs through Andhra Pradesh and ends in Tamil Nadu in Sriperumbudur , where it connects to the Outer Ring Road . The highway is eight lanes and requires 2,600 hectares of land. The construction costs including land acquisition and compensation are estimated at 18,000 crore rupees (approx. 2.2 million euros , as of 2020).
