Billerbeck (Osterburg)

Billerbeck is a residential area in the Hanseatic city of Osterburg (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The small settlement Billerbeck is located about two kilometers west-southwest of the village of Zedau and 3½ kilometers west of Osterburg in the Krumke district.

Neighboring towns are Schliecksdorf in the northwest, Krumke and Zedau in the northeast, Osterburg in the east and Storbeck in the southwest.

history

A property in Billerbeck near Zedau was first mentioned in 1864. In 1909, Wilhelm Zahn wrote that in the second half of the 19th century two manors belonging to Zedau were laid out on the desert field of a village of Billerbeck, of which the one to the west was given the name Billerbeck, which was later also used for the other . The courtyard to the west was still shown on maps at the beginning of the 20th century.
