Rengerslage belongs to the village of Königsmark and is part of the Hanseatic city of Osterburg (Altmark) in the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Rengerslage, a Marschhufendorf with a church, is located 3½ kilometers northeast of Königsmark and about ten kilometers northeast of Osterburg in the Altmärkischen Wische conservation area , a lowland area between the Elbe and Biese rivers .
The Rengerslage district, which includes the area of the Rengerslage district, is bounded by the Beverlake in the west and by western watering in the north and east.
Neighboring locations are Wolterslage in the west, Ferchlipp in the northwest, Lichterfelde in the north, Behrendorf and Giesenslage in the east, Busch in the southeast, Iden in the south, and Wasmerslage and Königsmark in the southwest.
history
The first mention of Rengerslage comes from the year 1206 as Rencherslache . The document issued by Pope Innocent III in 1207 . at the request of the dean and the chapter confirmed the rights of the Stendal Nikolaikirche , including the church and 3/4 of a hoof in Rengerslage. In 1209, Margrave Albrecht II of Stendal's Nikolaikirche confirmed the ownership in Rengirslage , the church and the property in the field of the Rengerslager fields. The deed shows that these goods were transferred to the monastery by Albrecht's brothers Otto II and Heinrich von Gardelegen . Other mentions are 1482 ville Rengerslage , 1542 Ringerschlagen , 1687 Rengerschlage , 1800 Rengerslage , 1804 village and Gut Rengerschlage with a windmill.
The noble Rengerschlage family named themselves after the village, which has been attested to in the Altmark since the early 14th century. The estate was owned by the family until it died out in 1677. The owners of the estate changed frequently. Before 1928 it belonged to Paul Fischer, then until 1945 to the farmer and merchant Schorcht.
During the land reform in 1945, the following were determined: two properties over 100 hectares had a total of 596 hectares, 22 properties under 100 hectares had a total of 414 hectares, and 2 church properties had a total of 44 hectares. 4 companies were expropriated, including the manor and a farm. 1947 from the Neubauer settlements that were the heavy ground does not manage, formed a Landesgut with 551 hectares of new, the 1949 folklore was and in 1953 as a department of state-owned Good VEG came bush. In 1948, 5 full settlers each acquired over 5 hectares and 5 small settlers each less than 5 hectares from the land reform. In 1954 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG “ Neuland unterm Pflug ”, was established.
Origin of the place name
"Rencher" means a person. The second part of the name “lage” “lache” “loche” stands for “border” or “district”.
Incorporations
On September 30, 1928, the manor district Rengerslage was united with the rural community Rengerslage.
On 25 July 1952, the municipality Renger layer of the was district Osterburg in the district Osterburg reclassified. On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Rengerslage was incorporated into the municipality of Königsmark. On July 1, 2009, the municipality of Königsmark merged with other municipalities to form the new unified municipality of Hanseatic City of Osterburg (Altmark). The districts of Königsmark and Rengerslage became the new village of Königsmark and the Hanseatic city of Osterburg (Altmark).

The Protestant parish Rengerslage used to belong to the parish of Iden. It is now run by the parish area Königsmark in the church district Stendal in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
The oldest surviving church registers for Rengerslage date from 1666.
Culture and sights
- The Protestant village church in Rengerslage is a late Romanesque-early Gothic brick building from the first half of the 13th century.
- The local cemetery is in the churchyard.
- Only relics of the manor are left today. The mansion was demolished in the 1990s.
- In the village there is a fire brigade, a village community center and a sports facility.
