Agriculture

During the land reform in 1945, the following were determined: 3 properties over 100 hectares had a total of 482 hectares, 6 properties under 100 hectares had a total of 866 hectares and one church property had 32 hectares. Walter Schluß expropriated the estate, which in Dobbrun comprised almost 315 hectares, and two other large farms of almost 140 and 115 hectares. As an important cattle breeding business, the estate was excluded from settlement and converted into a provincial estate, which became a state estate in 1948, and then a public estate in 1949. Finally, in 1954 it was incorporated into the state-owned Gut VEG Esack . In 1948, 24 full settlers each acquired more than 5 hectares and 12 small settlers each less than 5 hectares from the land reform, so that the image of the village of Dobbrun changed considerably.

In 1953 the first agricultural production cooperative of type III or type I, the LPG "Biesengrund", which was dissolved again in 1953, was established. In 1954 the second type III LPG, the LPG “1. May".

Origin of the place name

The name could be derived from a Slavic personal name doberik or from dobr , düöbre in the sense of fertile.
