Blankensee is a residential area in the Wolterslage district in the village of Königsmark in the Hanseatic city of Osterburg (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Blankensee, a scattered settlement , is located on Seegraben Iden (size watering), about three kilometers northwest of Wolterslage and 6 kilometers northeast of Osterburg in the Altmärkische Wische conservation area , a lowland area between the Elbe and Biese rivers .
Neighboring places are Tornowshof and Dobbrun in the west, Rethhausen in the east, Königsmark and Wasmerslage in the southeast, Wenddorf and Meseberg in the south, and Berken in the southwest.
history
In 1446 Blankensee was first mentioned as to the Blanckensehe , when knight Mathias von Jagow received a fief there and was given a fiefdom from the Schulzen Hufe in Meseberg, dy dar lyth translates to the Blanckensehe roughly: "which lies on the Blankensee". Heinrich Meseberg pledged an annual pension to Blankensee in 1466 to Ludwig Tornow, the vicar at the Alexius Altar of Stendal's Nikolaikirche . In 1687 it was called Blanckensee , in 1804 the village was called Blankensee .
In 1873 the New York farm was north-east of Blankensee ; in 1902 it was no longer recorded on the measurement table.
Origin of the place name
"Blank" stands for "shiny", "flashing". The place was once on a lake.
Incorporations
On April 1, 1936, the communities Blankensee and Rethhausen from the district of Osterburg were incorporated into the community Wolterslage . Since then, Blankensee and Rethhausen have been run by Wolterslage as residential areas. On July 25, 1952, the community Wolterslage was reclassified from the district of Osterburg to the district of Osterburg . On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Wolterslage was incorporated into the municipality of Königsmark.
On July 1, 2009, the municipality of Königsmark merged with other municipalities to form the new unified municipality of the Hanseatic City of Osterburg (Altmark). The district Wolterslage with the residential areas Blankensee and Rethhausen became part of the new village of Königsmark and the Hanseatic city of Osterburg (Altmark).

The Protestant Christians from Blankensee are parish in the Wolterslage parish, which formerly belonged to the parish of Königsmark near Osterburg in the Altmark. The parish Wolterslage is now looked after by the parish area Königsmark in the church district Stendal in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
